Founded in 2013 by IT entrepreneur Bevan Slattery and Richard Fitzpatrick, Biopixel is one of Australia’s premiere filming companies specialising in natural history behavioural sequences for both clients and its own specialist library. Building on over 20 years’ experience, Biopixel uses the latest filming technology, including 8K and high-speed equipment. Biopixel aims to promote the uniqueness, diversity and conservation of nature through the development of entertaining, engaging and educational visual content of the highest quality.
Building global partnerships to provide content, equipment, and expertise; producing a world-class, high-resolution stock vision library; advancing research and filming technologies with scientific partners; supporting educational resource development; and nurturing the next generation of content producers.
We co-manage one of the world's largest dedicated marine filming facilities at James Cook University in Cairns, Australia, and have extensive on-location filming capability in the region, including the Great Barrier Reef. Our ability to shoot in these diverse filming environments enable us to capture a range of unique animal behavioural sequences in the most conducive conditions.
From high-definition stock footage to bespoke filming projects and expeditions, on-screen presenting and equipment hire, Biopixel offers a range of filming and production services for local and global clients.
